Streptococcus is gram-positive coccus, non motile, non sporulating fastidious organism that required enriched media like blood agar, that belongs to the family Streptococcaceae, within the order Lactobacillales, in the phylum Firmicutes. It causes Strangles in horse and Scarlet fever in humans.
