Spirochaete

A spirochaete or spirochete is a member of the phylum Spirochaetes, which contains distinctive diaderm bacteria, most of which have long, helically coiled cells. It includes the leptospira, motile bacteria with endoflagella.
It causes Syphilis, Bejel, Yaws, Pinta, Lyme disease (borreliosis), Epidemic relapsing fever, Endemic relapsing fever and Leptospirosis.
