Mycoplasma is a bacteria that lack a cell wall around their cell membrane. Without a cell wall, they are unaffected by many common antibiotics such as penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics that target cell wall synthesis.
Smallest free living self replicating prokaryotic organism. Size is 0.125-0.82 microns. Pleomorphic in shape.
It causes Contagious Bovine Pleuro Pneumonia in cattle, Contagious Caprine Pleuro Pneumonia in sheep and Avian mycoplasmosis.
