Inclusion body hepatitis is caused by adenovirus and characterized by anemia, necrotic and haemorrhagic lesions in liver and haemorrhage in muscles.
- It affects mainly growers with a mortality of about 30%. It occurs due to stress or immunosuppression in birds.
- It produces basophilic/eosinophilic intranuclear inclusions in hepatocytes.
- Characteristic symptoms are anemia and sudden mortality.
