- Derived from epithelium
- Common
- Spread by lymphatics
- May have a pre-malignant phase (or in situ phase)
- Occurs commonly in older patients
SARCOMA
- Derived from connective tissue
- Rare
- Spread by blood
- Not believed to have a pre-malignant phase
- Occurs commonly in younger patients
